Homemade Slow Cooker Strawberry Yogurt

1/2 gallon of raw whole milk

heated on high for 2 1/2 hours to 180F

Ingredients:

1/2 gallon milk

1/2 cup plain yogurt (with active cultures)

Knox unflavored gelatin (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Warm milk covered in crock pot for about 2 1/2 hours on “high” until it is 180F.
  2. Let cool with lid off to 115F.
  3. Whisk in starter yogurt.
  4. Wrap crock with a towel and place in oven (that is OFF) overnight.
  5. Now prepare your strawberry mixture before you go to bed and place it in the refrigerator.

Mix:

1 pint frozen strawberries

1 tsp. vanilla

1 T sugar

1 T lemon juice

The next day….

  1. Skim off liquid and add a package on unflavored “Knox” gelatin
  2. Drain liquid off strawberry mixture.
  3. Combine yogurt and strawberry mixture in blender.
  4. Blend well and sweeten to taste with honey.
  5. Store in the refrigerator, or freeze into yogurt pops.
