I am amazed at how much fun my kids (ages 4-9) are having listening to me read this book. I first read this as an adult and found it fantastic in the way Hannah Hurnard uses an allegory to portray the journey of a Christian as they mature in their faith through life experiences. The kids are fascinated with Much-Afraid’s journey to the high places, and recognize the discourage words of her enemies Bitterness, Resentment, and Pride. I can’t wait to finish this book and read them Mountains of Spices which is an allegory about the gifts of the Spirit.
